The Band - Music From Big Pink

I know it's been forever and I apologize...but this ought to soothe your rock and roll soul..check out Chest Fever from one of the best albums ever!!

Pretenders - Don't Get Me Wrong

Dont get me wrong
If Im looking kind of dazzled
I see neon lights
Whenever you walk by

Dont get me wrong
If you say hello and I take a ride
Upon a sea where the mystic moon
Is playing havoc with the tide
Dont get me wrong

Dont get me wrong
If Im acting so distracted
Im thinking about the fireworks
That go off when you smile

Dont get me wrong
If I split like light refracted
Im only off to wander
Across a moonlit mile

Once in awhile
Two people meet
Seemingly for no reason
They just pass on the street
Suddenly thunder, showers everywhere
Who can explain the thunder and rain
But theres something in the air

Dont get me wrong
If I come and go like fashion
I might be great tomorrow
But hopeless yesterday

Dont get me wrong
If I fall in the mode of passion
It might be unbelievable
But lets not say so long
It might just be fantastic
Dont get me wrong

Creedance Clearwater Revival - Feelin' Blue

Heard this on XM 40 this morning..I was diggin' it.

Lou Reed - Take A Walk On The Wild Side

If you call my cell phone, this song is my ring back...all my friends get a kick out of it. When I pick up mostly they are singing...do ddo do do dodo do doodooooooo This is one of those tunes, that...well just brings back a flood of memories...One of my top 10 fav songs of all time I think..this vid was taped at The Bottom Line in NYC in 1983..another one of those magical mystical places of my youth. I like the studio version better but..it's cool to see Lou.

Bruce Springsteen - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Ok, this version is apparently from 1978 at the Capital Theater in Passaic NJ, which was about 10 minutes from my house when I was growing up. (saw a lot of great concerts there in the 70's). It's the closest version I can find, to the actual concert I saw Bruce perform this timeless classic in Decemeber of 1975. Enjoy!!

Badfinger - Baby Blue

Remember this ??

Mick Jagger - Use Me

I heard this on XM recently and immediately ordered the cd from Amazon. The entire 1993 - Wandering Spirit album is great, but this particular Bill Wither's staple..just blows me away. Listen for Lenny Kravitz accompanying Mick...damn this just funks me up!! mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmmmmm Turn it up baby!!

Todd Rundgren - A Dream Goes On Forever

Heard this on my walk this morning. It had me thinking about how it's ok to hold on to your dreams. I don't think I can ever let mine go.

I don't think I want to.

A million old soldiers will fade away

But a dream goes on forever

Im left standing here, Ive got nothing to say

All is silent within my dream

A thousand true loves will live and die

But a dream lives on forever

The days and the years will go streaking by

But the time has stopped in my dream

We all have our everyday hopes and fears

And youll find no exception in me

But that doesnt get me through a sea of tears

Over lifes biggest tragedy

Youre so long ago and so far away

But my dream lives on forever

I guess I believe that Ill see you one day

For without it there is no dream

Youre so far away and so long ago

But my dream goes on forever

And how much I loved you youll never know

til you join me within my dream

busy busy leelee

sorry listeners, I've been hectic lately. Many songs rattling around in my head and no time to post.

thanks for checking on me..I'll get something on here soon..

HUGS!!

Bill Haley and The Comets - Shake, Rattle and Roll

It's Friday and seems to me, tonight would be a great night for a sock-hop. Now of course we know that I am too young to have actually attended a 1950's sock-hop..but I think it would have been a blast.

Put on your poodle skirt or your madras shirt and have a go at this oldie but goodie!

David Bowie - Heroes - From The Concert For New York

The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

In honor of my recent trip through Dixie...this is from The Last Waltz..easily one of the best concert films ever made..I mean Scorsese..c'mon...

click on the picture above to see some stills....simply wonderful!!

Warren Zevon - Werewolves Of London

Ahhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

For Phos and Puerileuwaite

Van Morrison - Moondance

There's not too much I can say about this song..except that I love it. And this album....perfection!

Enjoy Into The Mystic!!

And a request for Phos, another favorite..turn it up loud:

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe, from Monterey Pop Festival 1967

I recently ordered the CD of the Monerey Pop Festival from the summer of 1967..it's an excellent show. How great is Jimi...really...I only wish I could have seen him myself, in person. At least we have this FANTASTIC video..ROCK ON!

David Bowie - Starman

Argent - God Gave Rock And Roll To You

Saw the Zombie's last night and didn't realize that Argent morphed out of them. I love to learn new stuff about Rock & Roll.

It's Summertime, Summertime, sum..sum.. Summertime...Summertiiiiiiiiiiiime

I thought I'd play some of my favorite summer songs..I have a hunch they are your favs too.

Sly and the Family Stone - Hot Fun In The Summertime

Mungo Jerry - In The Summertime

The Lovin' Spoonful - Summer In The City

The Beach Boys - All Summer Long

Have fun and don't forget your sunscreen!

ELP - Emerson, Lake & Palmer

I got into progressive electronic rock music early in the 70's, I always dug the big sounds that were orchestrated. Headphone music for sure. I'm still a big fan.

I had the wonderful opportunity to see ELP in concert down at Princeton college in like 1979. I went with a really tall, cute guy whose name now escapes me. I remember though, he was an airplane mechanic at Teterborough Airport in NJ and he had a lava lamp in his apartment in Lodi..gee, you would think I'd remember his name....but alas, I don't. Funny how I remember the lava lamp though..lol what can I say??
