George Harrison - All Things Must Pass

George "got it" years ago when talking about love and it being all you need. This album is pure and I love it. This particular set was released in 2001, 30 years after it's original release. Phil Spector's "wall of sound" brings it all out front and center and Ringo, Phil Collins, Billy Preston were guest artists. WOW!!

So many great lyrics, so many great tunes. I lit my incense and rocked on tonight.

You had it right then George, I'll do my best to keep sreading the word..love is all we need...we miss you!

Faces - Ooh La La

This afternoon I heard If I'm On The Late Side from this album on my XM radio. My goodness I hadn't heard it in years and I love it. SOOOOOOOOOO tonight I downloaded the album and burned it. 1973 was the original release date, I was a sophomore in high school. I just finished listening to the album and I remember every word to every song. Funny how I can't remember what I had for lunch today...go figure.

Well Rod The Mod is a favorite, that goes without saying, but I always had a "thing" for Ron Wood, even today, despite his addictions...I still love the guy.

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue

Easily among my top 10 albums of all time. I've been in a musical slump lately...not interested in looking into the depths of my extensive collection. Call it Summertime Blues if you will..then as I was doing my dinner dishes...I had a light bulb moment. AHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Miles will lift me up and redeem me.

I am transformed back in time to NY 1959...sitting in a smokey coffee house in Greenwich Village, wearing a black sweater and a dark slim A-Line skirt. Sipping espresso with a studious looking fella, who's wearing horn rimmed glasses and wearing a worn sports coat..perhaps with leather patches on the elbows. Although he is studious looking he is quite handsome and of course extremely intelligent. We tap our feet to the heavenly strains of Messrs. Davis, Coltrane, Adderly, Kelly, Evans, Cobb and Chambers, sip our joe and smoke..no cares, we are young, carefree and no one has decided that smoking will kill you yet..or if they have, we don't care. The whole scene has a fim noir look, gritty New York, papers blowing down the quiet street late at night.
