Paul McCartney - RAM

Ahhhh, RAM...the very first album I ever bought. I listened to it, till I wore the grooves off the vinyl. I FINALLY got the CD about 3-4 years ago and fell in love with it all over again.

"Heart of the country where the homely people grow...heart of the country smell the grass in the meadow...wowowowoooooooooo"

LOVE THIS ALBUM!! YAY!!! MAKES ME SMILE!!!

Leelee, this is yet another excellent choice. I LOVE this album. It's one of my favorites.

Too Many People

Too many people goin' underground
Too many reachin' for a piece of cake
Too many people feelin' pushed around
Too many waiting for that lucky break

That was your first mistake
You took your lucky break
And broke it in two
Now what can be done for you
You broke it in two

Allegedly the second set of lyrics was a jab at John Lennon, after the nasty breakup of the Beatles. John retaliated by releasing an album whose cover showed him hugging a pig.

***

Ram On

Ram on, give your heart to somebody
Soon, right away
Right away

***

Another gem. One that reminds me of my sister, who passed away around that time. Same could be said for "Dear Boy" and the majority of the album, for that matter.

Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey

This one reminds me of a favorite summer that I had growing up in Chicago, and playing in the water from the fire hydrant in front of my house.

Thanks for taking me back. I need to start doing an occasional post of this nature. It's too cool not to.
