Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

I love the machine age music on this Floyd classic. I saw this concert at Madison Square Garden and it was amazing.

I had the joy of shopping yesterday with my daughter. Stopped in parking lot of a big mall, and waited. Another guy, about my age was across the aisle, trunk open and perched on his rear bumper, strumming "wish you were here".

Quite a coincidence there.

Oh isn/t that something...I love when stuff like that happens!

Glad you had some "quality time" with your daughter. As they get older that seems to be harder to accomplish. I myself enjoyed a lovely diner lunch with my girl yesterday. Like little gifts of time.

I love, love, love this album! I'm strictly a 3-album Pink Floyd pug:

1) The Dark Side of the Moon;
2) Wish You Were Here;
3) Animals.

There's a few other songs. But The Wall was was overplayed, their later stuff was dull, and a lot of the early material was too "inaccessable".

ER mentioned hearing Wish You Were Here played in a parking lot. It's a cool and very easy song to play. Even I know it.

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year. Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fear. Wish you were here".

This is a very personal song for me.

Good choice.

Those are probably the top 3..although I saw The Wall Tour as well and performed live it was fantastic. # floyd concerts, Wish you were here, Animals and The Wall...not bad for a chick from Jersey huh?

I think Wish You Were here hits in a personal place for many of us.

Thanks for your comments P!
